After launching the world’s first vertical restaurant in October 2023, Vertigo set out to make this one-of-a-kind experience accessible to everyone.
Access Vertigo invites wheelchair users to take in Brisbane’s skyline from exhilarating new heights, developed in consultation with Sporting Wheelies CEO, Dane Cross.
Guests are safely winched to the Access Vertigo dining platform in a specially designed chair crafted from aircraft-grade aluminium.
At the top, they can enjoy a curated charcuterie box while soaking in panoramic views of the Brisbane Powerhouse – before being gently lowered back down from the edge of the building.
HOW TO BOOK
To book Access Vertigo, email [email protected] with your preferred dining date and time.
A brief questionnaire will then be sent for you to complete before your experience.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
ARRIVAL
Please arrive 30 minutes before your Vertigo booking to allow time for arranging any necessary transfer requirements.
TRANSFER
The method of transferring from your own wheelchair to the Access Vertigo chair will be tailored based on your questionnaire.
Vertigo is equipped with a sling for private transfers, and our staff are on hand to assist as needed.
ASCENT
You will be winched up to the Vertigo platform, taking in breathtaking views of Brisbane’s skyline as you ascend. Once at the top, your chair is securely locked into place at your table, and your dining partner joins you.
At all times, your chair remains safely winched with an additional backup safety system, and the wheels are locked to ensure complete stability.
DESCENT
At the end of your Vertigo experience, staff will unlock your wheels and prepare you for the descent along the front wall of the Brisbane Powerhouse.
Once safely back at the bottom, you can enjoy a celebratory toast to complete the experience.
